Field Engineer Responsibilities

What are the responsibilities of a field engineer? The field of engineering has many roles in which individuals can be involved. Often, it is important to understand what these specific roles entail and how they will contribute to the organization.

First, an engineer must have a technical education. Most fields require an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. A bachelor’s degree is also common for some fields and requires at least four years of study and four years of working on projects. Many engineers also choose to obtain a master’s degree.
